Bone-Etta Graves is a lovely young lady who is just “dying” for a date to the Mortician’s Ball.  Dressed to kill, she is wearing the latest in finery including her plumed hat and her flame-stitched skirt.  Her parasol sports the latest beaded fringe.  She most certainly will be the belle of the ball. 

Reminiscent of Day of the Dead figures, the body, feet and parasol of this stand-up figure are stitched on 18 ct. Mono Canvas, while the appliqued skirt is stitched on Kreinik Garment Canvas that will allow a softer, draping effect.  The kit consists of 4 pieces of canvas:  Head & Body, Feet, Parasol, and Skirt (Garment Canvas). 

Threads used include Kreinik Metallics, Splendor Silk, Shimmer Ribbon Floss, Vineyard Silks, Frosty Rays, Overdyed Floss, Very Velvet, and Glow-in-the-Dark Metallics.

The kit will include all canvas, threads, instructions and attachments needed for completion of the basic design.  There will be discussion in class of how to personalize the design by adding beads, jewelry, and personal decorations that can make the piece a truly individual work of art.

The student will be expected to supply 4 sets of stretcher bars and the usual stitching tools including light and magnification if needed.
